Hybrid learning combines in-person and virtual students into the same classroom simultaneously via webcam, splitting the education worker's attention in half. ALL students deserve a dedicated educator in the classroom regardless of whether it is virtual or in-person. We know that Black, Indigenous and Racialized students already face disproportionate outcomes as compared to their peers. A learning model that does not centre student success will only serve to further compound these inequities. Protect quality

Come out to our Phone+Email Zap Action on Wednesday May 26 at 5PM. We will be calling and emailing administrators of our board as well as the government to ensure that students in Special Programs within Peel do not have to endure another year of Hybrid learning! Bring a friend or three!

This model is bad for student learning and it’s unsustainable for educators.Since September, Special Education workers have been doing the impossible. Simultaneously supporting students in-class and online. Hybrid learning is inequitable and disproportionately disadvantages racialized and low-income students. Teacher support and attention is not a frill, but something that all students need and deserve.Hybrid learning will erode parents trust in public education. Those who have the option are more likely to choose private schooling.You were elected to defend public education.
